Module 4.0: The Principal’s Guide to Curriculum

There are two parts to this module, reading and “presenting” chapters from The Principal’s Guide to Curriculum Leadership textbook and reading a few blogs.

Part 1:  I have assigned each student 2 chapters to read and present.  Essentially, read the chapters and create a presentation (power point, Prezi, SlideShare, etc…) that you will post for others students to download on Blackboard.  Assignments are listed below.

Part 2:  A few years ago, a colleague of mine by the name of Dr. Cathy Moak and I decided to write a series of blogs differentiating the differences between Standards, Curriculum, and Instruction.  At the time, there was a lot of misinformation and debate surrounding the Common Core State Standards and how these standards were “creeping” into Texas public schools.  What we found was that many people, including teachers, did not know the differences between these three very different aspects of the lesson cycle.
